Inspired by the humane act of numerous blood donors, who are described or highlighted as heroes in the picture book, Marijan Gubina, the author of the picture book “If I could be a hero” with the aim of educating young people and encouraging them to live a healthy life, describes the steps in the process of voluntary blood donation. In addition to its educational and motivating character, the author expresses his gratitude to the Croatian Red Cross, the Croatian Institute for Transfusion Medicine and their partners, the organizers of voluntary blood donation.

The author Marijan Gubina has made the picture book available for free use to all interested associations, institutions and/or individuals.

With excellent illustrations of the plot and highlighting children through it, the picture book “If I could be a hero” is already creating small and big heroes. With the professional, or pedagogical analysis of primary education masters, it is reasonable to expect the achievement of the ultimate goal – Do good so that the same will be returned to you as soon as possible./p>
